Today’s briefing
- No briefing today, but a chance to sign up for Insiders!

Good morning {{first_name | Intriguer}}. As we foreshadowed this week, there’s no briefing today.

We’ve been beavering away on a special briefing on the US midterms, but not just any old briefing! A briefing in the form of a diplomatic cable from a Washington embassy back to capital. You can expect an overview of the races, how foreign policy is affecting those races, and perhaps most importantly, what it means for the rest of the world.

This is the type of thing we would have written back to the foreign minister when we were diplomats, but with more lols (foreign ministers are notoriously serious characters).

Is that format fun and informative? Yes. Did it require us to invent a fake country from a fake continent so as not to offend any real countries with our spicy takes? Also yes!

The briefing is only for Insiders (our Insiders subscription is how we keep the lights on), but the good news is there’s still time to join Intrigue Insiders before the briefing drops on Sunday, so just click the card below and sign up for a free 7-day trial. You could even sign up, read the briefing, and cancel without paying a dime. Please don’t do that, I’m not sure why I mentioned it, but you could do that.

Illustrated diplomatic cable from Washington, D.C., about the US midterms

As always, thanks for being an Intriguer!
